Streamlined design and engineering

Because it was designed for FF, using a DeltaV process automation system reduces instrument engineering and configuration time. DeltaV software has standard Function Blocks for designing control strategies. A library of pre-engineering control strategies is also provided for engineers to cut, paste and revise per their needs. With our polarity insensitive devices, you can eliminate polarity from design drawings and terminal lists.

It also provides quick and simple, drag and drop functionality. A single user interface allows configuration of all types of I/O: 4-20Ma, HART and FF. This is all done using one d/b as supposed to using multiple databases, which need to be mapped. A single user interface provides minimizes training for operators, maintenance and engineers.

With PlantWeb and FOUNDATION fieldbus, instrument loop drawings used during installation, and for the physical troubleshooting of device and signal problems, are replaced by instrument segment drawings. The number of fieldbus segments determines the number of segment drawings. The engineering savings results are highly dependent on the segment loading, engineering labor rate and the number of loops determined by control valve count. Data entry and data base management is also significantly reduced due to simpler and fewer interconnections to enter.
